assign roles & set a project timeline
Assign roles
Talk within your team about who is going to be responsible for doing what. Think about these following questions to get started:
What skills are needed for your team’s project? (Examples: Knowing how to use Google Slides, knowing how to manage and lead a team well, knowing how to keep track of time and organise tasks efficiently, knowing how to research, knowing how to write or make a good argument, having good artistic or design sense, etc.)
Are there already people within your team who have some of these strengths (or who have experience doing these things in the past)? Write a list of your names down alongside each of your strengths needed for this project.
Assign roles according to what works best for your team. It’s okay for people to work on multiple parts of a project or work as pairs or altogether as a team sometime! Do what works for you or ask your parent or teacher for help on this if needed.
Now that you’ve assigned roles, discuss a high-level project timeline. Think about the following:
If you chose to split up tasks, how long will you do your individual tasks for before getting back together as a big group?
How many check-ins as a big group do you want to have?
What time do you want to have the first draft of your project done by?
